Secure Housing: A Journey of Hope and Perseverance

For almost two years, Mary tirelessly searched for a secure home for herself and her son. The journey was fraught with challenges and moments of despair, but she never lost sight of her goal.

Mary’s young determination finally paid off when she was approved for the Section 8 housing voucher program. After months of relentless searching and countless tears, she found a place she could call home for her and her son.

The Impact of Support & Advocacy

Alongside the Grace’s Table team, Mary sat down to review her lease, build a budget, and celebrate this significant accomplishment. Having never lived independently, she had minimal items to furnish her new home.

Thanks to the generosity of donors and the incredible support of community partners, Mary now has a fully furnished home! Her son is thrilled about his room and spent an evening organizing his space.

Walking alongside Mary throughout this journey has been an absolute privilege. We've eagerly anticipated the day she secures a home and celebrates her perseverance. Despite numerous challenges, Mary is paving the way for herself and her son.

Experiencing Gratitude & Empowerment

Mary’s wish was to secure housing before her 24th birthday. With less than a month left, her wish came true! Overflowing with joy, she and her son are excited to take this next step. Her faith has only grown stronger, and she thanks God for this blessing.

After settling into her new home, Mary is already focused on her next goal—earning her GED. Her story is a testament to the power of resilience and the transformative impact of secure housing.

Transforming Lives With Secure Housing

We are asking our supporters to come together to raise money for our Residential Program, where teen mamas experience more than stable and secure housing—they are empowered to learn tools to build nurturing routines, gain critical financial literacy, and master life skills for personal and family care.

Every donation helps transform families from feeling how Mary felt—lost, uncertain, and ill-prepared...to becoming empowered, secure, and thriving.

Will you offer security and hope to young families in Grand Rapids by donating to the Residential Program today? Give now at gracestable.com/donate.
